Vote of Confidence
Our project is a unique post and beam construction using round timbers for a lodge-like look to emulate a home profiled in Timber Homes Illustrated Magazine. Scott and Jim have been extremely patient as they have taken their years of experience and adapted traditional methods to the untraditional needs of the project. Scott found a special concrete foundation that can be “sand blasted” to produce a fantastic look to complement the stone pillars and stone lower elevation. The interior designer has unearthed a Radiata pine wood that will take a pre-finished stain to match the Douglas Fir timbers and save us some money on doors and trim. Jim has the real challenge, engineering 8,000 + feet of radiant heat, installing two separate Spancrete decks tied to a wood connector, adjusting to a last minute greenhouse (sorry!) and conducting an old-fashioned “barn raising” with 16″ diameter rounds and 28′ expanses. You get the idea. We’d give an unequivocal vote of confidence to Winfield Construction. They have been knowledgeable, professional, friendly and very, very patient. We expect a great outcome.
